We are glad you have made it here. All youth and children’s ministries are subject to the same guidelines for Safe Ministry (see more on our Safe Ministry page). With this in mind, children and youth who participate in our ministries need to fill in our Registration Form.
Take me to …
Kids Church runs at our 9:30 am Culburra Beach Anglican Church gathering during term time. It is aimed at children from K-6. Children will spend some time in church before heading to Kids Church. At the end, the children usually return to share what they have learnt during Kids Church.
Culburra Caterpillars Playgroup is a church-facilitated playgroup that meets on Friday mornings during school term from:
9:30-11:15am
at Culburra Anglican Church
75A The Lake Circuit, Culburra Beach (Cr Penguin Head Rd)
As well as providing a fun, learning environment for the children, we aim to provide a supportive, caring environment for parents and carers to talk and share with each other. Our volunteer
“Grandmas” provide us with tea/coffee/cold drinks each week, chop up the children’s morning tea and enjoy interacting with the children too. We welcome Mums, Dads, Grandparents, and carers of children from birth to school age, and their little people. We love to sing songs, dance, play with instruments, scarves & ribbons, create, listen to stories and play with the parachute. We include a variety of children’s popular and traditional stories, rhymes and songs as well as bible stories and songs.
Routine –
9:30 – Arrive, sign in and free play
10:00 – Music time
10:30 – Morning tea
10:45 – Craft time and outside play
11:15 – Pack up and sing our goodbye song
We encourage parents and carers to closely supervise their children at all times, help them to participate in the music time, or play quietly if they’re not able, and to help them with their craft activities.
The adults and children all pack up together at the end of playgroup, during our ‘Pack-up’ song.
The cost for playgroup is $2 per family per week or $15 per term. These funds go towards purchasing craft materials, extra morning tea, new instruments, and playgroup supplies. We also ask you to bring a piece of fruit for our fruit bowl (to be chopped up for morning tea) and a labelled hat and drink bottle for your child.
We have a Facebook group called “Culburra Caterpillars”, which we regularly use to post information, reminders, and photos. This is a closed group, so photos and videos can only be viewed by approved group members.
At 289youth we take Jesus seriously. We hope that as youth hang out with friends, make new friends, eat food, and have heaps of fun, that they will come to know the one who loves them more than they can possibly imagine.
289youth runs term time on Fridays 5:30-7:30 pm at Culburra Beach Anglican Church.
Once a term 289youth will join other youth groups from around the Shoalhaven for a combined youth night.
During the year 289youth will attend KYCK in Katoomba and, if able, a weekend youth camp. 289youth also have a private facebook group here – https://www.facebook.com/groups/289youth
